Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to submit a formal compensation claim regarding a serious incident that occurred during our return journey with Emirates / flydubai under booking reference AVVWLZ.
Our return itinerary was booked as one single confirmed ticket, traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Tel Aviv via Dubai on 20–21 December.
The first return flight EK0393 (Ho Chi Minh City – Dubai) arrived in Dubai as scheduled. However, during the transit at Dubai International Airport, we were unexpectedly informed that there were no available seats on our connecting flight EK2120 (Dubai – Tel Aviv).
We were also told that we had not completed check-in, despite the fact that:
• The entire journey was issued on one ticket
• The flights were operated under a codeshare agreement between Emirates and flydubai
• No instructions were provided to complete a separate check-in
• Seat availability and passenger protection during transit are the airline’s responsibility
As a result, we were denied boarding and rebooked on a later flight, which caused a significant delay. This situation forced us to incur additional expenses, including:
• Hotel accommodation
• Meals and local transportation
• Serious disruption to our work and personal obligations due to the delay
This incident was not caused by any fault or negligence on our part. We complied with all travel requirements and arrived on time for our connecting flight.
Accordingly, we hereby request:
1. Full financial compensation for the denied boarding and delay
2. Reimbursement of all additional expenses incurred (hotel, meals, transportation)
3. A written explanation clarifying the reason for the denied boarding on a confirmed ticket
We expect this claim to be handled in accordance with airline passenger rights and Emirates/flydubai policies. All supporting documents, boarding passes, and receipts can be provided upon request.
