הבעיה: Hello. I am writing to formally raise a claim regarding our booking for a flight from Rome to Tel Aviv on May 3rd, originally scheduled to depart at 14:50. On April 21st at approximately 18:00, we were notified that the flight has been rescheduled to depart at 09:55 on the same day, representing an advance of nearly five hours. This constitutes a significant schedule change and, under EU Regulation 261/2004, is to be treated as a cancellation. As this change was communicated less than 14 days prior to departure and results in a major disruption to our travel plans, we hereby: Reject the alternative flight offered. Request a full refund for all 8 passengers in the booking. Request financial compensation in accordance with EU Regulation 261/2004. Given the flight distance between Rome and Tel Aviv, we understand that the applicable compensation is 400 EUR per passenger, unless you can demonstrate that the disruption was caused by extraordinary circumstances.
